Here in North Carolina, temperatures can wildly see-saw throughout the course of a single day and rain can come out of nowhere, especially as Spring starts to creep its green tendrils into our lives. This can mean plans for scheduled photography sessions may vary from how we imagined it. Here are some tips to be prepared for anything!
- Dress in layers. This way, as temperatures rise along with the sun, you can remove light-weight cardigans or jackets and still be comfortable during your session.
- Wear shoes that can handle a bit of mud. While our outdoor studio doesn’t have any mud-pit features, after rain the ground may remain wet. This is not the time for stilettos!
- Bring a spare set of clothing for your children. I know it sometimes feels like my own children can get dirty in a clean room, let alone outside. This way, if something happens, we can do a quick outfit change and continue the session.
- Just because it’s raining, doesn’t mean the session is ruined! Even though you can reschedule, we can grab an umbrella or our indoor studio allows for beautiful backgrounds and flexibility.
- Don’t forget about the time change! This means that there’s an extra hour of daylight that can be booked for photos.
