Random Acts of Kindness
Between winter weather and omicron, it hasn’t been an easy start to the year. Luckily, a great time to actively spread some cheer is coming up this month. No, I’m not talking about Valentine’s Day, but rather Random Acts of Kindness Day on the 17th! Started in the ‘90s, the day quickly grew in popularity. Need some ideas of how to celebrate? Here are a few!
- Have a conversation with someone, giving them your full attention
- Reply to a social media post you enjoy
- Slip a note of appreciation into a loved one’s lunch
- Write notes to give to residents at an assisted living center
- Leave an extra generous tip
- Eat or shop local instead at a big box store or Amazon
- Write a positive review on a product, service, or podcast you enjoy
- Ship a care package to someone you care about
- Pick up any litter you come across
- Find a reason to thank everyone you interact with (and share that gratitude!)
- Let someone go ahead of you in line
- Drop off or order dinner for someone you know is struggling
- Make some bookmarks and leave them in books at the library
- Write a letter to family member (everyone loves getting letters)
- Check out volunteer opportunities (local and remote) at justserv.com
