Everyone wants nice clean skin and while it’s not always achieved in person it can happen with a little photo editing help. It’s possible to give your clients beautiful skin while working in Lightroom so you don’t have to interrupt your workflow and switch over to Photoshop.
If you haven’t already done so, go ahead and edit the white balance (abbreviated as WB), tones, and presence of your photo in Lightroom as you would with any photo. (In this instance all I did was lower the highlights to even out the lighting a little.)
Next, use the healing/cloning tool to clean up any noticeable blemishes.
After you’ve done the clean up, choose the “soften skin” masking brush. Turn on “show selected mask overlay” so you can make sure you’re getting all the skin you need to get. After you’ve covered everything, turn off the mask overlay, so you can see the effect better. Adjust the clarity setting on the brush as needed to avoid the skin looking plastic.
Congratulations you’ve achieved perfect skin! Happy editing!
